The End of An Era- HRH Queen Elizabeth II
The world today is a different place than it was yesterday. The Queen of England, the only Queen known by 85% of England and Wales and most generations around the world, has passed away at the age of 96. Her call of duty and devotion to her country is being lauded today, as just two days ago she asked the new Prime Minister Liz Truss to form a government for the UK. England again after 70 years has a King, in what some may describe as reverse retirement for the former Prince Charles. He will undoubtably be crowned in the upcoming weeks and is already being referred by BBC, as King Charles III.
The world of royalty, pomp, and grandeur continues to bewitch people around the world, but it is actually the smaller sweeter moment's of the Queen's life that will stand out to me and I feel many around the globe. Let's first consider her gutsy James Bond moment for the Opening of the London Olympics in 2012. Apparently a Bond fan, she agreed to film this stunt and fun sequence which became the most beloved and trending surprise of the London Olympic Opening Ceremony.
My next favorite moment was her lovely tea with Paddington Bear and their sweet moment when sharing where they keep their favorite "marmalade sandwich". Depicted as sometimes a strong and principled matron, her interchange with beloved Paddington earlier this year would be cherished by all generations and dispel this image.
Last, but definitely not least, we had the opportunity in June of 2022 to see her great grandmotherly side shown while on the balcony with the royal family. The darling Prince Louis definitely stole the show when he expressed his surprise and delight to millions at the Queen's Jubilee Flypast. Video caught his sweet conversation with the Queen during the ceremonial flyover.
RIP, dear Queen Elizabeth and thank you for your service and inspiration to the United Kingdom as well as being a shining example of dedication to your country and commitment as Queen.
